Golden Flowing locks by any means necessary.

Darlings.I am tired! The midpoint of the first week back in the swing of things and I have been running my body into the ground with this new #sweateveryday goal of mine. But I have to say. I've found a line of products that makes it easier to fill 12 hours a day with things other than pajamas and sleeping and The Good Wife (which I just found out about and binged over the holidays). Now darlings, I'm not one to tell you that when a celebrity sells a product you are going to look half as good as they do. No matter what they are selling, they also have stylists to help, photoshop to blur, and probably Tracey Anderson waiting in the wings. So I don't usually pay much mind to beauty products with magical mystery claims. But let me tell you a story, darlings. One day I was minding my own business at Sephora, and an angel in black and red came over and asked me "Would you care to try a new hair care system for your beautiful flowing locks of golden ombre?"And darlings, you know that my hair is like a beast that needs taming on most days, and I'm pretty open to figuring out the best way to tame the beast. So of course I said "why yes, I'd love a way to make my irresistible hair even more irresistible, and if we could find a way to get rid of the dreads growing underneath, that would be great too, (heart eye emoji goes here)."And so this angel in black presented me with Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5in1 styling creme and said "I make all dreams come true."And as soon as she placed it in my hands, my hair straightened itself out, found the luster of a chocolate diamond (more on that tomorrow), and basically found the social following that "The Rachel" would have had had there been such a thing as instagram in 1994 (although, I think "The Rachel" would have better suited for MySpace).perfecthairday-styler-pdp-top_2Ok, ok, so this is not how this actually happened. What actually happened was I was in a harried line at a Sephora waiting to buy who knows what (most likely something frivolous and beautiful) and when I got to the register, I had a choice of some samples, so I chose this one.And I'm so happy I did. Because all of the feelings I outlined above happened. And I immediately googled the product to see if I was just dreaming or if this was truly the most excellent hair product around. And, darlings, I wasn't dreaming. Every woman who tries any of the Living Proof products love them.So I purchased pretty much everything. For my curls, I bought the in shower system.[gallery ids="2032,2031" type="rectangular"]The conditioning wash doesn't lather. It's like a wash of silk for your hair (although I have to say, since I only wash my hair like once a week anymore, I do lather on the roots with a more traditional clarifying shampoo. For my scalp and to kind of calm oil production). It really does feel like you are shampooing with some kind of hair milk (but smells much better than that sounds). The detangling rinse is so gentle. It's like an in shower glaze for your hair. But where most conditioners are like the goopy Cinnabon Glaze, this is more like a refined Lemon Poppy Seed bread with a saffron sugar glaze. You don't feel weighed down after using it, you feel like a better version of you.But the in shower is just the beginning.living-proof-phd-night-cap-overnight-perfector1This nightcap stuff is well, the stuff dreams are made of. It's an overnight "perfector" that doesn't get your pillow gross or need to be washed out in the morning. THATS RIGHT. YOU HEARD ME RIGHT.THIS DOESN'T NEED TO BE WASHED OUT.You can put in on wet or dry hair. You can wear it during the day or at night. It's a magician's product. It makes my hair magically smooth. It makes my split ends look like a cool Sally Hershberger cut. It's just really amazing. And then there's the stuff that everyone is talking about. The dry shampoo that the heavens opened and poured out.product-perfecthairday-dry-shampoo-pdp-top_1.jpgThere's nothing I can tell you about this product that you can't find elsewhere on the good old internet. But I will tell you this. Even working out 3-5 days a week, I can get away with only washing my hair once a week. Le hubs thinks this is gross. But I feel liberated.Listen, this stuff isn't cheap. But it's in the same wheelhouse as Bumble and Bumble and for me, it works much better.Don't let the celebrity endorsement turn you off. This stuff is made by a team of scientists at MIT and when her hairstylist used it on her (probably highly insured) mane, Jennifer Aniston was so taken, that she wanted to invest. And she did. And it doesn't matter, because she was right. This stuff is amazing. And it lasts a long time. And it smells delicious. And well, I'm just so happy it's in my life. And it's made my hair situation just so much easier. So just go buy it.And then make this ridiculously easy, ridiculously delicious superfood of a meal. Your skin and hair will thank you.A Fish Surrounded by Trees.INGREDIENTS1 lb salmon filet, preferably thick  cut (I know it's not good of me to admit, but I like the Atlantic salmon much better than the Pacific Salmon. We try to eat as environmentally friendly as possibly, but sometimes we don't. Most of our fish is wild, but unfortunately it's hard to find Wild Atlantic Salmon.)1/2 bunch of dill1 red onion, sliced into rings1 lemon, sliced into rings2 heads of broccoli, cut into small trees (This goes straight into the oven. If you like softer broccoli, I would suggest that you par-boil it ahead of time. But if you can stomach it, it's so much better with a burnt edge and a little crunch, just like me.)Olive oilSalt1 cup cous-cous, cookedMETHOD

  1. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place your salmon filet in a In a large square baking dish. Sprinkle with salt. unnamed
  3. Place your dill on top of your salmon. No need to chop. unnamed (1)
  4. Place alternating slices of onion and lemon atop the dill. unnamed (2)
  5. Surround the salmon with your broccoli trees. unnamed (3)
  6. Give the creation a healthy flash of olive oil and a sprinkle of coarse kosher salt.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes at 350, and finish with a broil for 4 minutes.

unnamed (4)9. In a bowl, make a  couscous foundation, add your salmon, onion and broccoli (Don't forget to use that warm lemon juice!). I like to add a scoop of homemade hummus (I've linked to a recipe for black bean hummus here, but I can't believe I've never shared my personal recipe for classic hummus! I'll put it on the list!) and some slices of avocado to round the meal out. Salmon and Avocado? Glowing skin for days!unnamed (5)Darlings, tomorrow we'll talk Harissa Orange Chicken and Chocolate diamonds.Have a marvelous Wednesday.xoxolcf
